Circumstances so easily move to take
the forward focus of our eyes,
and everyone has an opinion.
Conventional wisdom whispers in the ear of even the trusted friend,
and there you have it: Poison swimming through your mind.
But, I have learned. Bit by bit, my eyes have turned.
To stand on the craggy mountain top,
to see the circumstance below,
to hold the hand of the One who knows all,
to say: Lord, what do You say?
And through it all the weaving thread,
standing circumstance on its head:
But this is what the Lord says.
It is never the thing you would expect.
[redeem, verb: to free from what distresses or harms; to release from blame or debt; to regain possession or recover ownership;
to convert, restore, atone; to save]
