Redeem: 1

This is my promise:
To open my eyes.

All of this fear that I carry inside
stems from those years when I shut my eyes tight,
the inevitable weight of things falling apart
that keeps me here stuck, so scared to move on.

We have closed our eyes to our own life, you and I,
and true I understand the pain of it.
But will you take my hand and face with me
All that is in front of us?

{Yet peace, my friend, if this land feels full
of all that is mighty, fear;
I have promised to and for us both.
I open my eyes. I see.}

[redeem, verb: to free from what distresses or harms; to release from blame or debt; to regain possession or recover ownership;
to convert, restore, atone; to save]
