Because I cannot be silent.

Because I cannot be silent. Because I know students who have experienced racial hatred yelled to them across a crowded University space by those students supporting a candidate who gave them permission to, before he was elected to run their country. Because one of those groups was not silenced due to their right to "freedom of speech" and the other group is afraid to go to class today. Because "their country" applies to both, and together we must live. Because a leader of a country does not have to dictate the choices the people make, on the ground, every day. Choose well today, and choose well tomorrow, and choose well, every day, to see the person standing in front of you: America.
