From Friday to Friday, 33b: Karlskrona Edition

We made it back to Sara's sweet home, where her housemates met us with delicious Swedish dinner and good talking.
In the morning, we headed to campus, where Sara had class
and I had pastry.

 In the afternoon
I wandered the town,

shopping a bit,
taking in all there was to see.
At the edge of town I found this view, (including cadet quarters and an old fortress from the days when this archipelago city was a naval port)
 and headed closer,
 where I found more.
Then I headed back to the town square,
 and into this historic church.
 I settled inside,
warming up
and having a Moment.
Then I headed to the other side of town,
 and more little shops,
until it was time to settle into the local coffee house for some hot chocolate. The plan was to wait there for Sara, but instead I met up with her friends,
and we headed over to the old naval church
for the [surprise-you're-in-Sweden-for] St. Lucia day service.
The children's choir sang,
and so did we, and it was lovely above lovely.
Afterward, Sara (who had arrived mid-way through) and I
went for pizza and Swedish beer (yum).

The following day I went for more exploring,
towards the water on the other side of the city
and explored a little city museum.
(For some reason, no picture, but: Did you know, that the original Christmas trees were more like candelabras, typically with horses at the base and spikes to place apples on? I learned this, in Karlskrona.)

I then settled into a little bakery cafe where the lovely little owner and I communicated with sweet smiles and many hand gestures equaling
  "one coffee please."

Then I took the walk all the way over to the other side again for the Marine Museum.
Here, they have a "library" of ship models,
where people back in the early days of "engineering" could go to study all things ship-related,
as well as many other marine-related things.

Having seen all there was to see,
I headed back to Sara and the evening found us tucked into her house with a fresh bottle of glogg, before it was time for me to pack my things...
