When the girl turns 11, you go to the party, 

and even though she is cool enough now not to need you,

she is still sweet enough to say "I am glad you are here."
And you see the love she has hurtled at you since she was two flash gentle now across her eyes, hidden there from all these on-looking friends, and you hold all your love for her there in your heart and you simply say: "I am glad to be here."
