The piano cousins, little balls of competition, receding down the driveway hand in hand with Grammy, calling out a volley of their good-byes, escalating to the statement, "I love you more than my heart!"

When the child is explaining to you that there have been a lot of musical events in these Christmas-y days, and--in utter wonder--exhales, "Miss Lauren, my breath is full of singing!"

Why does this week always become 'let's eat out for every meal'
[and take bets on whether or not we will fit in our pants
