Israel Edition: Monday

The next morning, in a little town called Nazareth,
this was my morning view.
We gathered out front then, to travel by bus,
where this Conservatory was hosting us
[and this tiny window-residing bird]
in the city of Shefa'amr.
We learned songs
and talked of many things,
and then we walked to lunch up the street
[wherein we were delighted by the freshness and the flavors]
and then we walked back.

After more conferencing, we ended up back in Nazareth, where my friend Suzanne and I went a-searching for falafel. We found a shop, with an owner who is the son and the grandson of the original, and the hummus recipe is the old family recipe.
The food was delicious (pickled eggplant? thank you very much), and the owner was young and sweet and happy to welcome us,
and then we walked back in the cool night air.
Back at the hotel,
a reunion to beat all reunions occurred,
and there was Monday.

F2F, 63: Israel Edition, Saturday-Sunday

After a lot of airplanes and airports, after a run-in with security wherein they did not like me and I did not like them, after a bag not making it on a plane, after lost & found being at least somewhat kind, after a taxi ride with also-arriving-now friends--
I made it to the conference. [Photo cred: not me, because: charger confiscated by security people and placed in bag not put on plane.]

Later, I wandered up the street from our hotel with friends, finding a convenience store for water, and an Italian restaurant [not much open on the Sabbath in Nazareth...] for the most interesting Italian/Middle-Eastern salad ever created, and then I crashed into my bed.

And that was Saturday/Sunday/what day is it really?

From Friday to Friday, 62

Thought of the Week:
Summer Magic is not handing your
kitchen table over to piano babies on the daily.
